Home Office in Dallas, TX ditches window-unit for Ductless A/C

Homeowners in the Kessler Park area of Dallas, TX loved their free-standing office and graphic art studio in their heavily wooded backyard. It was a perfect place for working on creative designs and ideas, but was heated and cooled with a window unit. This dilemma left the homeowners to entirely rely on a window A/C unit that racked up huge energy bills was noisy and disruptive, and did not cool the space adequately. After growing tired of the noise and lack of comfort, the family decided that enough was enough.

The Problem:

The Solution:

A/C unit was loud, expensive to run, and did a poor job of making the home office comfortable.

Jack Schmidt of Benchmark Service designed a system for the family using a single hyper-heat, ductless Mitsubishi Heat Pump. This system will provide both heating and air conditioning.

The Solution:

Jack Schmidt of Benchmark Service designed a system for the family using a single hyper-heat, ductless Mitsubishi Heat Pump. This system will provide both heating and air conditioning.

The Design

The homeowners decided it was time to find a more permanent solution to their heating and air conditioning problem. They began researching their problems and found Benchmark Service in DFW. The owners read many reviews from customers, in similar situations, that were thrilled with their new ductless systems.

Benchmark Service is ranked as the #1 Diamond Elite Dealer for ductless in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which allows us to offer extended warranties and premium service to all our customers. The hyper-heating technology used in these units makes them some of the most efficient heat pumps on the market. The unit chosen for this job provides an efficiency rating of 33 SEER and will work in temperatures as low as -13 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Installation

The new indoor unit was installed high on the wall in a location that is visually out of the way and provides excellent coverage for the entire space. A small, unobtrusive 2 and ½ inch penetration was made in the exterior wall to allow the thin refrigerant lines to pass through to an inconspicuous, outdoor line set cover which completely covers and seals the penetration. The lines passed vertically, straight down to the compact Mitsubishi outdoor unit which was mounted on a heavy-duty concrete pad, on-grade.

The Benefits

By getting rid of the inefficient window unit and swapping it with a ductless heating and cooling system, this family will see huge savings on their energy bills throughout the year. The family will no longer have to deal with the disruptions of the noisy, window A/C system since the ductless units are whisper-quiet, both indoors and outdoors. They are so quiet, Benchmark Service has even installed ductless systems inside recording studios. Due to our design and installation practices, the system is appealing to the eye and blends into the home with no exposed connections.
